"Expect exceptional clinical care in a state-of-the-art facility that will be convenient for every Madison County resident. We are building the future of healthcare for Madison County at Madison River Oaks."
The $42 million Madison River Oaks Hospital will be a full-service, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the healthcare needs of families in Madison County and beyond.
Opening in the fall of 2011, Madison River Oaks will join the River Oaks Healthcare network, along with sister hospitals River Oaks Hospital, Woman’s Hospital, Crossgates River Oaks Hospital and Central Mississippi Medical Center and physicians and nurses serving patients throughout the Jackson region.
More than just a provider of quality clinical care, Madison River Oaks will also have a major impact on the economic development of this community.
HISTORY
The opening of Madison River Oaks next year will mark a celebratory milestone in what became a longtime struggle to build a new hospital for Madison County.
In 2002, county-owned Madison County Medical Center was burdened with $9 million in debt and struggled financially to continue its service to families in the region. Enter the River Oaks family of hospitals – who answered the call and leased Madison County Medical Center, taking over its $9 million in debt, relieving the county of a significant financial burden, and – with the extraordinary help of local physicians, nurses and caregivers – protecting the delivery of hospital care in Madison County.
Plans to build a new hospital to serve Madison County families were launched in 2004. In September 2009, years after the idea was born, Madison County leaders, caregivers and families broke ground on the new hospital.
